Many hotels go from month to month, quarter to quarter, year to year, attempting to sell the way they’ve always sold, even though the competitive landscape is constantly changing — and changing rapidly.
You must always bear in mind the following three things to reach your destination:
Where you are
Where you want to go
The best route to get there.
This is particularly true if your destination, your goal, is to reach your desired revenue goals.

I’ve seen hotels miss their numbers in January and never recover, continually trying to dig out of the hole they created in January.
You might be thinking there’s nothing you can do this month to help you hit your revenue goals in January.
That would be incorrect.
Whatever you do in January is going to contribute in February, March and April, too !

Consumer behaviour has changed. Much of this is down to the unpredictable nature of demand these days, as well as technological advances.
Identify demand patterns and learn how your target market works.
You can subsequently make the necessary adjustments to your pricing and marketing strategies in order to sell more rooms to more guests at the right price.
